Half a decibel is enough to settle an A/B before the ear gets to the tone. Compression takes level away, makeup gain puts back some approximate amount, and most of the dialling in then happens at a level you guessed at. Levelproof Compressor measures the difference in LUFS and applies it while you work.
Measured from your own audio
K-weighted loudness of the input is compared with the compressed signal under BS.1770 gating, and the difference becomes the makeup. After each parameter change, Levelproof re-measures the match and holds it until the next adjustment or manual Learn. Exports match playback at any render speed.
Four models, same loudness
CLASSIC, BUS, BUTTER and PUNCH each handle gain reduction in their own way. All four arrive at the same loudness, so a switch mid-listen is a straight comparison of behaviour. Bypass sits at that level too.
Nothing to re-level
Threshold, ratio, attack, release, and mix when you want the compression in parallel. Move any of them and a short replay of recent audio predicts the new match straight away, then the measurement takes over. Gain staging takes care of itself while you work through the settings.
